Transportation Planner
The Rutland Regional Planning Commission (RRPC) is an accomplished and award-winning regional planning and economic development organization with a talented staff and supportive Board of Commissioners, serving 27 Rutland Region towns. Regional Planning Commissions are political subdivisions of the State of Vermont, created by member municipalities, and serve as the go-to resource for towns linking municipal affairs and state government.
The RRPC is seeking an energetic and outgoing transportation planner to join our professional team. The full-time position will be responsible for managing the transportation planning program including coordinating public hearings, facilitating committees, grant writing, multimodal planning, and technical assistance. Candidates must be well-organized initiative takers that can work both independently and collaboratively with excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills.
A degree or experience in transportation or land use planning, environmental studies or policy, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or AICP certification is a plus. Position requires a reliable vehicle and attendance at night meetings. Starting salary is competitive, accompanied by an outstanding benefits package and flexible work environment.
